50 Cent Bankruptcy
The Wall Street Journal said on July 13, 2015, that 50 Cent had filed for Chapter 11 personal bankruptcy. 50 Cent lives in Connecticut, so the bankruptcy was made in the US bankruptcy court in Hartford, Connecticut. 50 Cent was living in Mike Tyson’s old house at 50 Poplar Hill Dr, Farmington, at the time of the filing. In the paperwork, 50 Cent said that he had assets worth between $10 million and $50 million. He said he owed the same amount of money.
A few days before the filing, a jury told 50 Cent that they had to pay Rick Ross’s ex-girlfriend Lavonia Leviston $5 million because they released a sex tape with her on it on purpose. The fine was $2.5 million for using her picture without her approval and another $2.5 million for causing her emotional harm.
In that case, the judge also told Mr. Jackson to show proof of his income and wealth so that the jurors could decide on more punitive damages. He could have been sued for a total of $22.5 million.
