Dakota Early Life

Dakota Johnson’s childhood was anything but ordinary. Born in 1989 to famous actor parents Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, Dakota entered the world amidst the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. But behind the flashy lights was a tumultuous upbringing filled with constant change.

As the daughter of two sought-after stars, Dakota was raised on film sets as her parents traveled for work. The lack of stability took its toll. With no roots or steady home life, Dakota struggled to find consistency. By age 14, she was battling depression.

But Dakota’s unconventional childhood also immersed her in the entertainment world from birth. Surrounded by actors, she gained invaluable experience that would later influence her own successful acting career. Though the constant traveling proved challenging, it also gave Dakota a front-row view of her parents’ craft.

Even Dakota’s extended family reads like a Hollywood who’s who. Her maternal grandparents were actors themselves, and none other than Antonio Banderas was once her stepfather. With six half-siblings also in the business, acting seems to run in the family’s veins.

For Dakota, life has been anything but dull. She’s endured hardships, but her unique upbringing also helped pave the way for her future success. Though the road has been rocky, her talent and determination have carried her through. Dakota’s journey is proof that sometimes the most difficult paths still lead to beautiful destinations.

Johnson Personal Life

Dakota Johnson has had her fair share of high-profile relationships. She was linked to musician Noah Gersh and That ’70s Show actor Jordan Masterson. Johnson also found romance with Matthew Hitt, lead singer of indie rockers Drowners. But her most talked-about coupling has been with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, whom she started dating in 2017.

When it comes to real estate, Johnson has A-list taste. In 2016, she bought a $3.55 million home in the exclusive Hollywood Hills neighborhood. Her new pad, built-in 1947 by famed architect Carl Maston, sits among mansions owned by other celebrities. The Spanish-style abode has four bedrooms and a swimming pool. After purchasing the property, Johnson renovated parts of the interior to make it her own. Even though the house has old Hollywood charm, the actress has given it some modern updates.
