Daniel Joseph Levy is a Canadian actor and director born on August 9, 1983. He started his journey as an MTV Canada television host. His role as David Rose in the CBC sitcom Schitt’s Creek (2015–2020), which he co-created and co-starred in with his father Eugene Levy, brought him recognition on an international level and critical acclaim.
Levy won a Primetime Emmy Award for producing, writing, directing, and acting in Schitt’s Creek. Schitt’s Creek became the first television series to win a Primetime Emmy Award in all four major comedy acting categories in a single year.

Dan Levy was born in 1983 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is the son of Deborah Divine and the comedic actor Eugene Levy. His mother is a Protestant, and his father is Jewish. He has an older sister, Sarah Levy, who will be starring in Schitt’s Creek, later. Levy’s family celebrates both Hanukkah and Christmas, and he also has a bar mitzvah.

Levy started his television career in 2006 as one of the original co-hosts of MTV Live, the now-defunct flagship program of MTV Canada.
