Collin Morikawa was born in the United States of America, California, Los Angeles in 1997, on 6 February. Collin is the son of Mr. Debbie and Mrs. Blaine Morikawa. He is of Chinese-Japanese descent. He went on to do his academics at La Canada High School, Los Angeles County. After his high school studies, he did his major in Business Administration at the University of California, Berkeley.

In 2019, he got graduated from the University of California. Collin grew a keen interest in golfing from a very early age. He used to watch different golf championships daily during his academic studies.

Collin was seen actively participating in Amateur Tournaments at the University of California. During his Amateur days, he played collegiate golf. He had won collegiate Championship for five times. People were very shocked by his confidence, humbleness and amazing swinging skill.

Collin Morikawa has also won Western Junior, Trans-Mississippi Amateur, Sunnehanna Amateur, and Northeast Amateur as an Amateur. He was a very big threat to opponents in Amateur League. He was listed as the top-ranked golfer in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.

How Collin Morikawa Started His Professional Career?

After dominating Amateur Tournaments. Collin Morikawa made his professional appearance at the 2019 RBC Canadian Open. He had a very rough start in his career. In his debut tournament as a professional, he tied for 14th place. Despite of his bad performance, he didn’t gave up and learned from his experience.

Collin Morikawa went on to win his first PGA Tour, in Barracuda Championship. He competed head-to-head with Troy Merritt to defend this title. On July 12, 2020, he won his second PGA Tour at the Workday Charity Open. During this event, he beat Justin Thomas to secure his second title.

He had won a total of 5 PGA Tour wins, consisting of 2 Major Championships, 1 World Golf Championship, and 2 Other PGA Tour. He has stated that to win these championships, he had to work a lot harder, be disciplined and persistent.

Collin Morikawa has a very beautiful love story with his wife named, Katherine Zhu. Talking about her profession, she was a former Pepperdine Golfer and All-WCC selection. Before being in a relationship, they were friends who talked a lot to each other before confessing feelings for each other.

After staying in a relationship for a long period, they decided to level up their story. In December 2021, they got happily engaged to each other. After just nearly 1 year, they tied the knot with each other on November 26, 2022.
