What happened to Henry Ruggs leading to prison ?
In February 2021, Tina Tintor died in a horrific car accident that Henry Ruggs III was driving. As a result of reports that Ruggs was driving while drunk at the time of the collision, he was charged with several offenses, including DUI that caused death and reckless driving.
On November 2 2021, he turned himself in to the police and was taken into custody at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas. Ruggs was reported to have been driving his at 156 mph seconds before the crash. While the vehicle decelerated to 127 mph when the airbags were deployed.
Ruggs posted $150,000 bail so is not currently incarcerated. He is being monitored electronically under conditions set by a judge.
How long will Ruggs spend on jail ?
Ruggs initially faced up to 50 years in prison, but his plea deal drops that to between three and 10 years. Until his sentencing on Aug. 9, Ruggs will remain under house arrest, where ESPN reports he will be monitored with electronic devices that detect location and alcohol.
