On May 1, 2012, Cena filed for divorce, and on July 18, it was officially finalized. He started dating fellow wrestler Nikki Bella later that year. April 2, 2017, during WrestleMania 33, was when Cena proposed to her. They were supposed to get married on May 5, however, they split up in April 2018.

After dating Shay Shariatzadeh since early 2019, Cena wed her in a private ceremony in Tampa, Florida on October 12, 2020. They got together in Vancouver, where Shariatzadeh works while filming Cena’s 2019 feature “Playing with Fire.” He doesn’t have any kids and wants to focus on his career.
