Early Life

George Kusunoki Miller was born in the Japanese city of Osaka. His father is from Australia whereas his mother is from Japan. Joji graduated in 2012 from the Canadian Academy, an international school in Kobe, Japan. He left Japan at the age of 18 and traveled to the United States.

He attended the New York Institute of Technology for a year. But dropped out of school to pursue a career as a YouTuber.

Miller described Filthy Frank, a persona he created in 2012. The anti-vlogger of YouTube, and the channel began to gain popularity. Miller posted a video to the DizastaMusic channel on August 15, 2014. He announced that he would not be publishing any more video content to the channel. Because of the fear of losing the channel due to multiple copyright and community strikes. He also revealed that future “Filthy Frank” videos would be published on TVFilthyFrank, a new channel he had created.

Miller’s TVFilthyFrank channel included a variety of series, including “Food,” “Japanese 101,” “Wild Games,” and “Loser Reads Hater Comments.” As of October 2023, this channel had 7.88 million subscribers and over one billion views. On July 1, 2014, Miller launched a third channel, TooDamnFilthy. He had two programs on this channel: “Japanese 101,” which was also broadcast on his main channel, and “Cringe of the Week,” which was frequently abbreviated to “COTW.” TooDamnFilthy has 2.33 million subscribers and 332 million views as of October 2023.

On September 27, 2017, Miller announced the publication of his first book Francis of the Filth. Which tackles issues raised in The Filthy Frank Show and serves as a conclusion to the series.

Miller stated on Twitter on December 29, 2017, that he had stopped producing Filthy Frank. Content owing to “serious health conditions” and a lack of enthusiasm in continuing the show. Miller stated in a BBC Radio 1 interview in September 2018. That he had no choice but to quit making comedy owing to his health condition.

Miller had a lifelong interest in music composition. Miller’s Pink Guy music is generally humorous, in keeping with the character of his YouTube channel. Pink Season, his second album, opened at number 70 on the Billboard 200. Pink Guy, Miller’s comic rap stage persona, has released two albums and one extended play, Pink Guy, Pink Season, and Pink Season: The Prophecy, respectively. Miller made his debut as Pink Guy at SXSW on March 16, 2017.

Joji co-wrote the song “Nomadic” with the Chinese rap group Higher Brothers. Miller made her live debut as Joji in Los Angeles on May 18, 2017. The Boiler Room live-streamed the event. Miller released the first single off his debut commercial effort, In Tongues, on October 17, 2017. The track “Will He” was released on Spotify and iTunes.

Joji released the single “Glimpse of Us” on June 9, 2022, and it peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. On August 26, he released his second single, “Yukon (Interlude)“. Joji released his album Smithereens and the single “Die for You” on November 4. Joji toured North America from September 2022 to September 2023 to promote the record.
