On December 4, 1973, Tyra Lynne Banks was born in Inglewood, California. Banks is the daughter of Donald Banks and Carolyn London. Her father was a computer consultant, and her mother was a medical photographer.
She has a brother named Devin who is five years her senior. Tyra experienced body-shaming at just eleven years old due to an abrupt growth spurt that left her tall and thin.
