Born in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 16, 1973, Aliaume Damala Badara Akon Thiam is the son of jazz musician ‘Mor Thiam’ and dancer ‘Kine Gueye Thiam’. His brother’s name is ‘Abou Thiam’.
