Early Life and Background
Botez was born on September 24, 1995, to Romanian immigrant parents, But she was born in Dallas Texas, and was raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Her father Andrei Botez used to teach her chess when she was six years old. As she learned to play chess at a very young age she became a master at the game, After some years she eventually became a member of the Romanian Community Centre chess club, Golden Knights, Which chess Master Valer Eugen Demain coached.

Alexandra Botez won her first Canadian children’s national championship in 2004 at the age of eight. In 2010, where she played for the National Canadian team and won four more Canadian youth titles. At fifteen, Botez won US Girls Nationals and twice represented the state of Oregon in the SPF Girls’ Invitational. Botez achieved the Woman FIDE Master title norm in 2013.
While she was in her junior year at Stanford University she decided to share her chess content on the internet. Hence, she launched her Botezlive Twitch channel in 2016. She couldn’t stream frequently as she was in college. It was difficult for her to manage both streaming and studies. After graduation, she started focusing on live streams. Her sister Andrea Botez also joined her in the live stream several years back.
The channel grew very fast after they start uploading videos of teaching chess and playing video games like Valorent, and Hollow Knight. To interact with their fans they used to do chatting streams. Now currently they have more than 1.2 million followers and 1.2k paid subscribers.
The sisters launched their youtube channel to share their Twitch Live streams with their fans. They have earned more than 1 million subscribers. They have also made another youtube channel named Botezlive Clips, where they share their clips with their subscribers. This channel has currently 100k subscribers.
